Mother of 7, Student Midwife & Artist from Conception

Being able to be apart of empowerment, healing and unity of family and community through birth work is a great gift that provides me with a deep sense of purpose in life. This path is a calling and when one is able to be guided on the journey they are a conduit for the divine.

Oniana Jahmora moves through her work with a deep and peaceful sense of purpose, guided by the principles of empowerment, healing, and collective unity. Rooted in birthing justice, her journey began while earning her B.A. in Anthropology, where she came to understand the profound systemic inequities shaping maternal healthcare across the United States. Since 2016, Oniana has walked alongside families throughout the Bay Area as a certified Jivamukti and perinatal yoga teacher, doula, and homebirth midwives’ assistant through the Midwives College of Utah. Her care is grounded in compassion and cultural reverence—honoring each family’s story while empowering them to make informed, embodied choices throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Beyond her birth work, Oniana is a devoted mother and caregiver of six, a stained-glass artist, and the author and illustrator of My Activated Chakras, a children’s book that reflects her love for creativity, mindfulness, and education.

Within her role at CoCo Doulas, Oniana plays an integral part in administrative data management and program facilitation, supporting client groups, Doula training, and community outreach. She has helped train over 60 Doulas within the community and shared her voice at the 2024 AMCHP Conference alongside renowned Doula and Trainer Linda Jones, and curated the interactive gallery, 'Black Maternal Excellence'. Through collaboration with local midwives, she continues to advocate for accessible, community-centered midwifery care. With every facet of her work—birth, art, teaching, and advocacy—Oniana weaves threads of justice, connection, and love, nurturing the collective healing of the communities she serves.
